Children's Sunday School
Early in the service, children are invited by the priest or lay leader to the front of the church for the ‘children’s talk,’ where they hear a little about the grown-ups lesson, before being led downstairs for Sunday School. The children begin by lighting the candle as a symbol of God’s presence, and have a check-in session to socialize and talk about life – school, friends, and what they’re looking forward to. The group then transitions to the lesson of the day, followed by the activity of the day. Children come upstairs to receive communion, before returning downstairs to finish the activity as needed, and help clean up, before rejoining the congregation for tea and coffee (and snacks!).
